Hi there I'm tidying up my old messages and don't know if you got an answer to this one. I would guess that you're having a problem with the old 255 characters limitation that happens in some circumstances. Access table fields can either be formatted as Text in which case they hold a maximum of 255 characters (including spaces), or as Memo, when they will hold a lot more. We first came across this problem when we tried importing (and linking) data from Excel into Access. We got round that one but then it cropped up again when we tried using Word for MailMerges, because we produce reports in Russian and Chinese as well as English and Access would not support Chinese characters. It was even more of a nightmare because PCs on our network use all sorts - Win2K, WinXP, Office 2K, Office XP AND Office 2003 - whilst we are limited to Access 2000 thanks to tight budgets and to Microsoft "unpacking" it from all but the most expensive more recent versions of Office!!!! Using WinXP and full Office 2003 seems to have overcome it. When I try to open the word doc we get a dialogue box with two options, 'find data source', or 'remove all mail merge fields'. I choose 'find data source' and naviage to the new file name. When I choose the filename it comes up with a list of objects but only 10-15. There are over 300 objects in the database. Can anyone give me an idea of why I don't see all the objects or point me to any manuals that might help using Access with MS Word mail merge? ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe" (without the quotes) in the subject line.
