Well...I doubt you would find anything in VBA help cuz =rand() isn't
VBA....it's more of a "formula" and Word's help menus don't really tell much
about formulas.

I don't think this one is well known in the laymen field.  I'm not sure, but
I suspect Microsoft added it more for tech help people, so they could
quickly add random text when they wanted to troubleshoot something.  I don't
really know of any other function that it serves.
