but even with the links, one cant see which cell has links and which cell
has not.
is there any short cut to fing out which cell has link to other sheet.
sometimes when i try to make a new file using an old file, most items are
copied and pasted special values but a few have formulas. in a large file
it becomes too tedious a thing to see which cell is left with links.

The auditing toolbar only shows the precedents/dependents that are on the
same sheet

If you want to see links to other files that are referenced in your
formulas, go to the Edit menu and choose Links

Subject: [mso] excel- formula auditing

In excel formula auditing when i use trace dependents it shows thru arrows
in which cell formula is entered that is dependent on the primary cell but
it doesnt show where the primary cell is linked to other sheets in the same
file or other files that are dependant on the primary cell.
am i missing out something?
this is important becoz there is a lot of financial data linked to one
another and at times it is needed to delete a whole file then REF! gets
created in other files.

any suggestions/ tips welcome.
