You're right...sorry, I must have been half asleep when I answered as I was
thinking REMINDER and you said notification. Not sure if you can change that
sound?

I am using Office Outlook 2003
I closed Outlook, went to control panel, sounds and audio, sounds, Windows,
New Mail Notification, in window it says "Windows XP Notify.wav".
When I send myself an email it still makes a weak, short ink.. sound.
Nothing loud enough or recognizable that I could hear in another room.
I also tried the Browse and put in "Chimes.wav". Same result, nothing that
sounds like chimes. Just a short "ink" sound.
Any other suggestions as to what is wrong??
Sound system is Santa Cruz.

Well, you didn't tell us what version you are using...but if you're using a
newer version...you can click the BROWSE button next to the sound
REMINDER.WAV and just choose any other .wav file...including yourself
screaming that you have mail...if you have a mic.

Subject: [mso] email notification

I have tried to set up Office so that it will notify me when an email comes
in. I have done all
the directions say. When an email comes in it makes a little soft noise
that can hardly be

heard. I am used to a loud sound (using Incredimail) that I can hear in
another room to come

out and check the mail. Is there anyway to make the sound louder and
longer? I have even

tried browsing and finding some music that has the .wav - but it doesn't
help. It didn't play

it when I sent myself an email. Should I be able to hear the email
notification from another room????
