[mso] buttons disappear in Word 2002 SP3

Hi,

I'm using Word 2002 SP3 as part of the Office XP Suite.

If I put a new button on the toolbar 'thesaurus' for example it works fine 
until I close and reopen Word and then I find that the button has 
disappeared.

I have run the 'repair'.
Renamed the global.dot file
Renamed 'data' in the registry

None of which helped.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
