I don't know how this works on a Mac...on a PC most of the menu/toolbar
stuff is fixed in the Windows Registry, and I know Macs don't have one of
them...so, what you can do is Close Word, and RENAME your normal.dot (don't
delete it) and then open Word and see if that fixes it...if it does, then
you can go back and delete the old normal.dot that you renamed...but if it
doesn't fix it, then you can just delete the new normal.dot and rename the
old one back to normal.dot and you will be right back where you
started....so trying this won't hurt anything.

Sorry, but I don't know anything about Mac preferences...once you get on a
PC, I'll be able to help you lots more LOL

Subject: [mso] Word--what do I have to throw away?

Dear Friends,
My pull down menus are not pulling down again, though it is just in the
beginning stages and I can still do most things. Word 2000 on a Mac.

I actually s#bscribed to this list because it happens about twice a year.
The solution is to throw something in the trash. However, I cannot remember
what it is. Its either preferences or the normal template.

I thought I kept the answer (and that I would remember) but I do not. My
new pc is on its way (this week they tell me), then, I shall no longer have
weird mac problems to bother you with and shall instead have normal run of
the mill pc problems. :)
