Hi Charles. First of all, you have it backwards. If you embed an Excel
spreadsheet in a Word document, changing the Word document will NOT
change the Excel spreadsheet....but changing the Excel spreadsheet WILL
change the embedded copy in the Word doc. (All you need to do is
highlight the data in Excel and use Paste Special when you paste it into
Word and put a check in the box that says "Paste Link")

And, if you want this to work on another machine, you obviously have to
send the Excel spreadsheet along with the Word doc and they need to put
the spreadsheet in the same location where you have it so the path
doesn't change.

Best thing to do is put both the spreadsheet and the doc in a folder,
then zip the folder and tell them to extract it to the same location
where you had it on your hard drive.

I'm not quite sure it's just Freelist! :-( I think Yahoogroups is taken
a
hit from something as well! <shrug>

Anyway, I have a quick question. I know that you can (I think they call
it)
embed<sp> an Excel SS within a Word Document, where if you would change
a
value in the embeded<sp> SS (within the Word doc), the Excel original SS
will change as well, correct? Now let's say I wish to send that doc
with
all the formatting as stated (not so well) above, to a person who also
have
both programs, would it (the entry of data) work the same on their
system?
