[mso] Word crashing in "web layout" viewing mode

MS Word 2003 (11.6568...) SP2 crashes a lot when viewing in the ?web
layout? mode (selected via the ?view? menu). Specifically it often crashes
when I cut and paste from the web into the document in word, other times it
crashes when I cut and paste from one section of the document into another
(while in web layout mode). By crashing I mean MS Word will display the
standard dialog window, ?We?re sorry, Word has encountered an error and needs
to close?? and offers me options to report the error to MS.
Repeatedly I have downloaded updates and patches from MS for both
windows XP and office professional 2003, however none seem to make Web layout
more stable. I use web layout to see more of the document on a wide screen
display..
Does anyone else encounter this or have any suggestions?
