[mso] Word 2000 text formulas?

I made a table in Word 2000 and would like to enter text formulas similar to
Excel. Upon attempting to do so, "Clippy" suggested I consult the Equation
Editor Help Topics in Help menu. I do not see it. I did a repair on my
install of Word 2000, and still do not see it. Is there a setting elsewhere
that turns it on?

Thank you.

Robert
