Not sure what you are using for an email client Katherine, but Outlook 2002
(and the new 2003), and even Outlook 2000 (patched), do a fine job of
blocking those nasty attachments.

With a little bit of effort, you can customise which attachments are blocked
and which are not.

I can honestly say I haven't had to worry about a virus laden attachment for
the last 2-3 years. Outlook takes care of it before my antivirus even sees
it.

Regards

     :Sorry,
     :
     :One last item.
     :
:Do you all have hosts for your webpages and email that
     :will allow you to
:filter, at the server, for attachments? My host will
     :allow me to filter for
:subjects and body and senders, but not file attachment
     :extensions. They
:told me it is my responsibility to use my email client to
     :do that. I agree,
:but I'd like some duplication for my money. I might want
     :an email with the
:subject: "Thanks!" I actually get those. I'm pretty
     :sure I don't need a
:.pif file, however, so THAT is what I want to filter for.
     :
:Any references by happy clients who know their hosts will
     :let them screen
:for attachments would be greatly appreciated (off list is
     :probably the best
     :idea).
