Many thanks Linda, it seems such a little thing but I have wasted hours in
the past removing them one by one because I couldn't find the symbol which
often appears when you copy and paste text from a webpage etc

I've clearly gotta find more time to check out your "dot com" more
thoroughly!!

Graham

Hi Graham. Like I said in my last reply, if you go here, there's a link to
a picture that shows what each of those symbols is. Once you know the name
of the symbol, you can find it in the "Special" list in the Find/Replace
box.

As you can see, the first arrow you refer to is a Manual Line Break. Use ^l
(that's a lower-cased L)

Hi Linda et al

While we're on this topic, does anyone know if there is a Find/Replace
facility (like ^p for paragraph, ^t for tabs, etc) for converting webpage
"new paragraphs" (i.e. the small arrow symbol similar to what is on many
Enter keys) with standard Word "new paragraphs", the "reversed p" symbol as
on the Show/Hide icon?

Many thanks
Graham
