Well I've deleted it and re-recorded under a new name and yes it works.

I had called it TabletoText, but I've called it macTabletoText now and
all seems well.

Thanks very much

Sounds like you named the macro with a default name that is overwriting
a table command in Word????

Try changing the name. The best thing to do is use some type of naming
convention in the prefix like macTableConvert or proTableConvert (for
procedure). Then you can be SURE you don't use a reserve name.

Subject: [mso] Table to text conversion

I recorded a simple macro in Word 2k2 to convert a table to text.

Since then (I think) I have lost the option to chose the type of table
to text conversion I want, and all such conversions (even using the
menu) do not offer me the choice of conversion type. I want most to opt
for using tabs rather than paragraph markers to separate entries.
However it has defaulted to using para markers, and the choice no longer
even appears.

Have I changed a setting? There doesn't seem to be anything in the Help
file.

I haven't tried deleting the macro yet, but that will be the next step
if no-one has any suggestions.

Thanks
