Hi Linda

I think it's the same in Yahoo groups also.

I read my e-mail messages in OE and I made my settings to 'Group Messages by
Conversation'
That means, when I receive many messages related to same thread, they appear
in OE in one line so I click on '+' sign to expand the line and show all
messages.

Sometimes I notice that some messages are listed inside a thread group of
messages but actually they are not related to that thread!

I realized that sender used 'reply' instead of 'New message'

Thanks

Mohammed

Subject: [mso] Something I just learned about Freelist Archives

I don't know if this was handled the same way in Yahoo, but I just
learned something from the freelists support people WHO ACTUALLY ANSWER
MY QUESTIONS!

I was asking them why the archives don't seem to be grouping threads
correctly and they explained this to me:

If you reply to a post and just change the subject line and delete the
text in the email, then start your new thread, that mail will still be
included as part of the original thread....the only way to truly start a
new thread is to open a new email, address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx and
start your thread

I must admit, I am guilty of just replying to a mail and wiping out the
contents....since I'm lazy and this is quicker for me LOL

From now on, I will not do this anymore and I hope the rest of you will
follow suit, so those reading the digest and using the archives might
see things a little more clearly

Thanks.
