Dian...I'm not going to be a lot of help to you on this one cuz I've never
set up shared calendars WITHOUT Exchange...as far as I know, the only way to
do it is with Net Folders (which I think you already know about...if not,
read http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/netfolders.htm )

I believe Slipstick is going to be your best friend on this stuff

But, with your knowledge of webpage design, I bet you can come up with some
snazzy Form--->Database solution that works way better than Net Folders
(which is pretty limited, from what I hear)

Good luck....sharing stuff in Outlook without Exchange is not convenient or
easy, so you are in for your first challenge in the new job, my
friend...have fun :-)

Subject: [mso] Questions about Sharing Outlook without Exchange

Hi folks...

Time for me to ask for help. Linda, I know you have posted lots of answers
over time here, about folks using Outlook without Exchange to share info. I
plan to read a lot over this weekend, but I have a client as work...that
I'll need to help setup some sharing, calendars, and other group solutions
for...who are using Outlook 2000 without Exchange. There are about 60 folks
in this company and they'd like to share schedules and such.

I have lots of info in a couple books I have, but I'd appreciate it if
anyone who has more info about this type of situation, pls chime in with
some of the basic info of what can and can't be done without Exchange. Such
as...can schedules be shared to see when someone else is busy? I know you
have to have that profile/calendar info available through a network
connection, but can it be done without Exchange? If so how. If not...I'll
create an intranet site and allow them to publish their calendars internally
with Outlooks schedule publisher feature.

But I'd appreciate any info from anyone who is using Outlook 2000 in a
workgroup environment...who doesn't have Exchange. Anything I should know,
might be missing, etc.

Cheers!

Dian D. Chapman
