Are you entering the command from the run box or are you typing cmd in the
run box, then entering the command directly into the actual command box?

I've never seen this behavior, but it's possible if you are trying to edit a
macro from the command box while the Office program is trying to use the
macro, that that could cause the program to crash or close.

I'm no macro whiz, but I think if you post what the actual macro problem is
that you are trying to troubleshoot, someone might be able to help you more.

And, no...this is NOT off topic :-)

With any member of the Office 2000 family open, and you open the RUN command
line, but enter a dos command that works in cmd.exe (Not command.com) has
anyone observed Office abruptly closing? I am trying to troubleshoot a
lengthy macro. Thank you.

Thank you.
