PMFJI...but I teach a class on doc design, including newsletter
creation. 

If you're putting them in the footer (or header) in Word, you can simply
toss them in a textbox and set the alignment...or insert a table and
insert the pics in the cell, set the alignment and remove the table
border. Using a table is the easiest way to align text, too.

What Office program are you doing this in?  Word?  Publisher?

Have you tried clicking on the picture to select it, then clicking on
the Center Alignment button on your Formatting Toolbar?

Hi Linda:
I am trying to set up a small newsletter and wanted to put 2 pictures at
the bottom of the page, one in each corner, and expected I could do it
using footer. I can get both pictures in the footer but they are staying
left. What am I missing. Dave
