I think I understand. You are under pressure right now and reacting to unplanned, necessary, PITA work. Can't blame you! Not all jobs will cause these messages to appear from what I'm reading. As I read, I discovered something we can consider to be the 'skinny' on the topic at http://www.dbforums.com/t961725.html . I recommend taking a look at the following Q&A and take some reassurance. The issue is simple. Some queries can access the operating system and it's particularly offensive if someone builds an Office document to host on the web with Document Object Hosting with mailicious intent. That hosted document can effectively own the site visitor's system: "From: Walter Ruh Date: 10-30-03 14:35 Subject: Access 2003 security warning -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------ I'm getting the following message when opening an Access 2000 database: "Microsoft Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8 or later must be installed to block unsafe expressions without affecting common functionality." I have checked out the download center but cannot find a Service Pack for Jet 4.0 and the latest mdac update excludes the Jet engine specifically. Also, I don't want to install a new driver that may interfere with my concurrent Office 2000 installation. How can I disable the security warning? Thanks Walter edit post From: Alick Date: 10-31-03 02:13 Subject: RE: Access 2003 security warning -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------ Hi Walter, We can install Jet 4.0 SP8 to get the Access 2003 warning message; we can refer to the article to download Jet 4.0 SP8; Information About Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8 http://support.microsoft.com/?id=829558 If you don't want to install Jet SP8, you can follow the instructions on how to turn on the Jet Sandbox which are documented in the KB article at http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;294698. In general, there should not be any major issues when running Access 2000/2002 in sandbox mode. This is actually the mode we suggest for Access 2003 and if you have a computer with multiple versions installed, they all run the same Jet. There are a few specific issues in SP7 that have been discovered and are fixed in SP8. The most traumatic issue results in randomly returning #ERROR in a query even though the functions being used are safe. This problem goes away if you turn off SandBoxMode by changing the registry value to 2. For more information regarding Jet SandBoxMode, see the following article: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=294698 Please feel free to reply to the threads if you have any questions or concerns. Windows XP, Office 2002 I want to copy my Outlook data from one machine to the other. I will be using both machines running same versions of Office. Yes, two separate licensed copies <g> I do not want to move my contacts (address book) to the new computer. They are screwed up from a previous move and I cannot get them to alpha order. How can I move all my pst files and not the contacts?
