I can't remember if this is the same in Outlook 2000, but I *think* it is. Go to Tools>Options, click on the "Other" tab, then click on the "Advanced Options" button...in there you can choose which folder to open...but it was limited in the older versions of Outlook so you only have a couple choices...finally in Outlook 2003, you can choose any folder you want.
