What you are seeing are Outlook 2003's "Search folders"....they are simply saved Searches...when you open them, they do a Search to show you all your Unread mail or Mail marked for follow up. They don't actually move any mail into them, they are just Searches to show you that mail, but the mail is still in it's original folder....If you right click on that Unread Mail folder and choose "Delete Unread Mail", you will see you get a box that says "Are you sure you want to delete the Unread Mail folder? This will not actually delete the mail"....Deleting this folder simply deletes it from your Folder List, but does not delete the mail, which is not really in this folder, but still in it's original location. Hope that's clear. The Search folders are actually pretty handy. You can make all kinds of search folders that you can use to instantly see all the mail you have that meets certain criteria, without having to go into every folder you have. I have no idea what I have done or what my machines has done or what the gremlins have done but I do know I would like all those messages which are in the Unread Mail folder to go back to where they came from. They seem to only go back where they came from when I have actually opened them :o( This is not good because I have a squillion of them :o( and I am not ready to read all of them. How can I get them back to where they came from without opening each one? Thank you in advance.
