Linda,
This is a little aside. I am running Windows 98 second edition & in long
ago times I did a repair through add & remove programs but I can't remember if
it was for IE or Word. At any rate, I am having difficulty with Express also
(not the same problem as this) & I just tried to follow Control panel > & no
where can I find an option for 'repair'. Is it because it is Win 98?
Thanks,
Jan

OE is part of IE, so if you are running any operating system other than XP,
you can go to Control Panel> Add/Remove programs and choose to REPAIR IE

If you are running Windows XP, you can't do this, however...in this case,
read these instructions from Microsoft:

I agree that the problem is probably OE/IE and not Outlook, but becuz it's
affecting you in Outlook, I'm letting the thread continue cuz I don't see it
as OT....yet

Linda, when the problem occurs, I can't load even load Outlook so that I
can run detect and repair option in Outlook help menu.

After putting in the IE 6 CD, the problem clears and running detect and
repair option doesn't seem to correct anything at that point since by
that point everything is ok again. I expect the problem to crop up again
tomorrow.

Someone here asked me if me IE was the culprit? Could it be? It came
from Microsoft. If so, that sounds as if I need to download or buy a new
IE.

Thank you.

Robert

The reason you need OE installed with Outlook is some of the components
from
OE are used by Outlook (most notably, OE's news reader)

I don't think the problem is OE...I think it's Outlook. Try a detect and
repair from Outlook's help menu.
