Hmmm, sounds like you want real time stats which can be tricky to see.
Here are some suggestions that may be useful but none are exactly what
you want.

1. Turn on Outlook diagnostic logging - See MSKB article 300479 for the
instructions for XP (which I see you're using). This will produce
OPMLOG.LOG in your c:\documents and settings\<user name>\Local
Settings\Temp folder. It's a log of all SMTP, POP3, IMAP and Hotmail
sessions. If you use a decent Text Editor like EditPlus2
(http://www.editplus.com), you can almost see real time updates to the
logs. If you switch focus back and forth between Outlook and EditPlus,
everytime you come back to EditPlus it will ask if you want to view the
updated copy of the log because some other program just changed it.

2. Use a protocol analyzer to look at SMTP, Web, POP3 and IMAP traffic.
I recommend Analyzer, free from http://analyzer.polito.it/. You'll also
need to install the WinPCAP capture layers from
http://winpcap.polito.it/install/default.htm. Using this tool is pretty
simple if you've ever done net captures before. If you haven't, you'll
learn.

3. Learn to use Telnet to check your POP servers. I think this is a
great tutorial on the
subject:http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/pop3telnet.htm

The reason your XP progress indicator is inaccurate is because XP is
finally a multi-threaded, multi-session mail handler. The fact that it
can connect to multiple servers at once and download from them all
simultaneouly really screws up the math for estimating progress.

With thinking this clear, is coding really a good idea?"

You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or
MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to
mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?Subject=unsubscribe

Or, visit the group's homepage and use the dropdown menu. This will also allow
you to change your email settings to digest or vacation (no mail).
//www.freelists.org/webpage/mso

To be able to use the files section for sharing files with the group, send a
request to mso-moderators@xxxxxxxxxxxxx and you will be sent an invitation with
instructions. Once you are a member of the files group, you can go here to
upload/download files:
