Hi Jim...it's happened to me occasionally too and I *think* what is actually happening is I am accidentally dragging the mouse just a tad when I click and ctrl+drag = make a copy Linda Publisher ~ ABC ~ All 'Bout Computers Owner ~ Linda's Computer Stop http://personal-computer-tutor.com/main.htm Author/Teacher ~ MS Office EBooks/Classes http://personal-computer-tutor.com/services.htm -----Original Message----- From: mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of James Chapman Sent: Sunday, May 19, 2002 10:00 PM To: mso-lIST Subject: [mso] Outlook 98 Undesired copy when selecting within message list When going through my inbox, I often select a number of messages that I wish to delete. Since the messages are often not contiguous, I continuously hold down the control key while I left click list elements with my mouse. Selected elements in the list appear highlighted. When I am done, I use the delete key or the shift delete key to get rid of those that I have selected. This works fairly well except once in a while selecting a message in the list, a bunch of the selected entries in the list get duplicated in the un- highlighted state. These copies of the selected list elements appear in the list for no reason known to me. This is annoying to say the least. Of course I can undo this by going to the Edit menu and selecting Undo Copy.. The duplicate copies then disappear from the list as they should. Is this an Outlook problem or a Windows 95 problem. Why does this happen, and is there a way to avoid it? Jim Chapman ************************************************************* PLEASE READ!!!!
