Corey-- Disabling that would be a BAD idea; many Windows-based viruses propagate by scouring an infected user's Outlook address book, then sending copies of the virus to all the people on that list, which those folks are more likely to open since they appear to come from a trusted source...thus infecting themselves! The (in)famous 'Love Bug' virus of several years back is a prime example. So, permanently disabling that Outlook feature would be akin to taking the locks off your front door because, yeah, sure, they do keep out the bad guys, but, gosh, it's *such* a hassle to have to use a key every single time you come home, you know? :) But don't despair! There are a number of cheap/free products available that you can install to permanently allow a particular 'violator' access to the Outlook address book, without letting everyone else in. My favorite is ASO (http://www.dirfile.com/advanced_security_for_outlook.htm), but there are many others. Just Google for more. Hope this helps. --Jim -----Original Message----- From: mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Corey S Sent: Friday, April 29, 2005 4:23 AM To: mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [mso] Outlook 2003 Access Manager Hi All, I've recently got a new mobile phone, and am looking at disabling the Outlook Address Book security manager - the little pop-up that asks if you want to allow a 3rd party programme access to Outlook's Address Book. I'm tired of having to continually click Yes - 10 minutes. Is there an add-in? Some setting I can check to disable this "feature"?
