Haven't they seen the commercials where the geek finally says "we're gonna
save 3 million dollars a year" and everyone suddenly understands all the new
rollout excitement!<g>

Thanks Dian for the report!
WOW, seems NYC still puts on the best show, even when MS is producing it!

I attended the Philly launch, held at the Hilton, and it was very tame
compared to yours, (Linda, were you there?) We only had 5-6 MS Partners,
consisting of some schools, couple of developers and HP and Compaq if I
remember well. Lots of food!

We got t-shirts, voucher for Office 2003 and a 120 day eval package. Things
started at 9am and finished about 5pm.

On bit about companies still on versions prior to 2000, the bean counters
just won't let it happen unless they can find compelling reason to upgrade,
most still see their systems as glorified typewriters, I've been fighting
that attitude since '96. My last 'real' job, I got pulled to meet with the
board of directors cuz I okayed request for Office 2000, even after the
auditors complained - in writing - that we need to comply with other
agencies (we were still using WordPerfect 5.1 and 6 in 1999.) I did win them
over but it was bittersweet.

Wish I could become a MVP! I'm just destined to remain a tech headbanger!
;-)
