Hi folks... Just gotta share a little news...these last 24 hours have been amazing!<knock, knock, knock> After two years of job hunting from having my job dissolved as Project Manager/Infrastructure for Morningstar.com...I fell into a dream job as Technical Project Engineer with US Microdyne here in the Chicago area. I'm very excited about this new shift in my life as I'll still get to deal with folks on a consulting level and do a lot of the things I do best. Way cool. But you won't get rid of me that easy...I'll still be around. Just need a little time to adjust to a revised schedule. But support is what I do...so I'll still be here. And today I just received my 9th year MVP renewal award! So big thanks to all of you who passed along your comments of support to Microsoft on my behalf, through my MVP Support survey. See...I told you I'll be around!<smile> With this award, it means Microsoft appreciates what I do to help you folks as YOUR advocate! Note...I know lots of folks THINK that an MVP does the Microsoft song and dance. But it's REALLY the other way around. I'm YOUR advocate TO Microsoft! MVPs not only provide support to Microsoft users on behalf of Microsoft...but we also provide LOTS of feedback TO Microsoft regarding what we see/hear from user communities...like this one! We have Microsoft's ear...so when we go to the summits...or anytime, we DO let them know what the users have to say and what you want! And they DO listen. You can ALWAYS feel free to pass along your comments to me via my web site at www.mousetrax.com. Just use the Contact Us link and mark the subject appropriately. I save that info and pass it along through a special MVP feedback medium. I'll also be attending a small MVP summit in Chicago in January and the big Seattle summit in the spring. So don't be shy. HA! Like you guys ever are!<eg> And if that wasn't enough...I guess I stepped in something good for once. Cos' today's mail also brought a complimentary copy of the new Word 2003 Bible book. The publisher's had asked me to read it while still in production and, as always with the Word Bible books, I was impressed and plan to use it as my personal Word reference book. They apparently liked my comments, because they put my recommendation right on the cover of the book! How cool. So next time you're in your local geek book store...be sure to check it out! Better yet, if you plan to use Word 2003...pick up the book. I had nothing to do with the writing of it. I just think these are terrific books...my copies of each Word Bible version are worn out and loaded with post-its. Can't wait to start posting up this new version!<wink> You can find a direct link to check out the book on my book recommendation page at: www.mousetrax.com/books.html. Oh...and Greg's buying me a motorcycle (after 20+ yrs of not riding one) as a congrats present for getting the job. So stay off the streets if you're in the Chicago area!<smirk> Cheers! PS...with all this activity, TechTrax WILL be out, but probably not for a day or two, yet. Dian D.
