i'll work on some code over the weekend to help you along...

The output from this will be in excel then, in the same file --> maybe =
=3D
different worksheet. Not fussed.

Not too sure how the pivot tables work (never used it before), would it
=3D
be possible to generate that extra column by looking at the day column?

i.e if [day column] =3D3D=3D3D 'Mon','Tue','Wed','Thu','Fri' then [added =
=3D
column] =3D3D WD
else if [day column] =3D3D=3D3D 'Sat','Sun' then [added column] =
=3D3D WE
    else [added column] =3D3D #ERR

I've never done very much with excel, so i have no idea.

Thanks,

Jeff

well this is a mouthful lol.... off the top of my head I would work =
=3D
on programming a pivot table (although the grouping of the days /week =
=3D
end would be interesting.... alternatively i would add another column =
=3D
specifying weekday or weekend that you can then add to... the next =3D
question would be what is the output.. another worksheet? workbook? =
=3D
pivot table is probably your best bet (with the added column..)

I want to convert this to a worker, weekend and total hours

Weekday and total hours=3D20

=3D20

(weekend and weekday needs to be separated for pays)

=3D20

Is it possible to write a macro that will do this.

=3D20

I'll give some sample data

=3D20

Joe Bloggs Tue 3

Joe Bloggs Wed 2

Joe Bloggs Wed 2

Joe Bloggs Sat 1

Sally Duffield Wed 5

Sally Duffield Sat 2

Sally Duffield Sat 3

Sally Duffield Sun 2

Max Hax Mon 1

Max Hax Tue 1.5

=3D20

I want the result to print out in a list like this:

=3D20

Joe Bloggs Weekend 1

                                Weekday 7

Sally Duffield Weekend 7

                                Weekday 5

Max Hax Weekend 0

                                Weekday 2.5

=3D20

=3D20

I have no idea how to do this!

=3D20

Thanks guys.
