[mso] MS word/excel takes ages to load, then freezes.

Hi, I have the above problem with MS office.
On a reinstall it works ok for a time then reverts to above symptoms.
I have tried various registry cleaners to no avail!
If I completely remove Office will all my files that require MS Office to open
dissappear as well?
I guess all my templates etc will go, but will the files go? ie
invoices,quotes,job spec's?
I use MSO to run my small business.
