It'll depend on what code she used to link the files? She'll have to change the field codes in all the docs. But WHY do you want to have them embedded? Did she have a reason to link versus embed before? Has this changed? Know that we have a FieldLinkConverter macro on our web for more easily converting the field paths, if that's the problem?
