Sorry Graham, I should have specified the field with validation rule would be text property, not yes/no. Thanks for trying Cathy, but that doesn't work - saves OK so syntax etc. is accepted, but when M or F are entered in the Field (it currently has all No's), Acccess gives the message "The value you entered isn't valid for this field. For example, you may have entered text in a numeric field or a number that is larger than the FieldSize setting permits." and putting quotes on value list Row Source gets the same result. Anybody got any other ideas? -----Original Message----- From: mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Cathy.Evans@xxxxxxxxx Sent: 01 December 2005 16:07 To: mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [mso] Re: Logical properties in Access (am using 2000 and 200 3) Thanks for the clarification. To prevent any other entry that M/F, in table design view, set the Validation Rule to: Like "M" Or "F" If you want to also have a lookup you can set the list box value to M;F. hth, Cathy ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The information transmitted is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain proprietary, business-confidential and/or privileged material.
