Hi g, Did the users close down correctly... I used to work with a great wizop ... said that before in a previous mail :-)... who claimed that sometimes the recover process in Word goes awry because of trying and not being able to access auto recover files. Do the users have "auto recover" set? Have the "~" files been deleted from the network? Also, try Ctrl Alt Del and see if WINWORD is still running after it looks like it closed.
