We need to know two things to be able to help you:

1. How are you inserting the picture?
2. What format is the picture? (jpg, gif, bmp, etc.)

Let us know this and I'm sure we can figure out why the inline with text
option is greyed out.

But, first you could try this: Have you tried copying the picture and using
Paste Special to paste it in in a different format that will allow you to
set it inline with text?

Subject: [mso] Inserting a picture into MSWord 2k

Hello,

I am trying to insert a picture in to a word doc and have the picture
in line with the text. However I insert the picture Word will allow me
to wrap the text in lots of ways, but I want it in line with the text.
The option is always disabled.

The help pages are not useful in that they say to change it click on
the option!

Thanks,

Alan.
