In case the data is coming from Excel, add another column and use the
mid(a1,1,7) and use this field in the mail merge..Or if the data is from an
external data source (RDBMS) use the substr function to get the first 7
digits and then use that in the mail merge document.

I've checked the archives for an answer to this problem and found similar q=

I am doing a mail merge with Word 2000 on Windows 2000. I only want to show=
