It may be old hat to many of you, but as someone who is not an expert in Excel it was new to me so I wanted to share it with any others who may not already know this. How to remain in Group Edit Mode in Microsoft Excel (all versions) One of the features available in Microsoft Excel is the ability to group edit multiple sheets. You get into Group Mode by selecting the first sheet in the group then holding down the Shift key and clicking on the last sheet tab in the group for a contiguous group. For a group of non- contiguous sheets you would individually select your sheets while holding down the Ctrl key. And finally if you want to select all your sheets you could right click on any sheet tab and choose Select All Sheets. By design, when you have all the sheets in a workbook grouped, simply clicking on another sheet tab would deselect the whole group. This can become quite tedious when you're trying to remain in Group Mode but want to check another sheet for some reason. Clearly the way to get around this design feature is not to group all your sheets. Well, that isn't too helpful is it? We have a workaround that should help you. You can get around it by adding a new sheet then selecting all worksheets except for the new one. So try this: 1. Click on the 1st sheet tab in your file then hold down the Shift key & press F11. This will add a new sheet at the beginning of your workbook. 2. Rename it BLANK or some other name that will stand out. 3. Right click on a sheet tab then choose Select All Sheets. 4. Hold down the Ctrl key and click on the BLANK sheet tab. That will deselect the sheet and keep the rest in Group Mode. Now you can click on any other sheet tab or use Ctrl+PgUp or Ctrl+PgDn to navigate. As long as you don't click on the BLANK sheet tab you'll remain in Group Mode. As you may have guessed, to get out of Group Mode you can either click on the ungrouped sheet tab or right click on a sheet tab and choose Ungroup Sheets. ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe" (without the quotes) in the subject line.
