[mso] Excel question on importing web data

Question on Excel, either 2003 or 2010: I'm trying to import data from a web
site (any site). If I select the entire web page, I get the entire page as a
set of text values, one item per row, generally, and some tables as multiple
rows and multiple columns. If I select a particular table, I always get a
message that the query produced no data. Is there some switch I've neglected
to empower, or some setting that must be set just so? Every published text and
web help source (so far) has yielded nothing new. Is there any hope?

Thanks,

David Groves
