Glenda,
As far as the display of formulas in your Excel worksheet is concerned, make
sure your Tools - Options - View - Window Options - Formulas, setting is
correct ie not checked.
Re the display, regret that I have to get ready for a lecture, have tried
various options but get the same as you. Sorry can't hep on that one.

Hi All.
I have a field formatted special to display as telephone number. The actual
value is 1234567890. It looks like (123) 456-7890
When I use Word to merge this field it displays the actual value.
In Excel I tried to get the value so used functions left, mid and right in a
text formatted field. When I do that though what I see in the cell is the
formula, not the result.
I tried the control + ` to switch between formula and value but that did not
work.
