Try the WORKDAY function. I can't remember if that's one of the default
functions in Excel. If not, go to Tools>Addins and make sure you have the
Analysis Toolpak addin checked.

Hi folks,
I am putting together a spreadsheet to track vacation requests for
several employees. What I want it to do is calculate how many working
days the requested vacation would cover, and then compare it to how many
vacation days the employee has left. The thing is, is there a way to
get Excel to calculate how many working days are in a particular span,
as opposed to calendar days? I have one guy requesting a span from May
14 to June 15, and that's going to cover probably 20 working days, but a
lot more calendar days than that. =20
Any insights out there? Thanks in advance.
