I'm not aware of an easy way to do this, but here's a hard way that
works!
1. Future date and time in A1
2. =NOW() in B1
3. =A1-B1 in B2
Cell containing hours reads: =ROUNDDOWN(B2*24,0)
Cell containing minutes reads: =ROUNDDOWN(MOD(B2*24*60,60),0)
Fun, fun, fun.

I am subtracting the result of NOW() from a future Date+Time and I would
like to show the result in hours and minutes. The Time format does not
answer, because it returns a 24hr clock format. Do I need a complex
formula (multiply by 24 and take the integer part for the hours,
multiply the decimal part by 60 for minutes and use TEXT() to format as
hhh:mm) to do this or is there a custom format which I have missed?
