Subject: [mso] Date Limitations for Excell vs. Access ?

Hello. I am aware that in Excel's valid dates "begin" in 1900, which is
the reason for "adjustment" in date before performing an age
calculation, an estimate of birth date, or an estimate of the death date
calculations. Does the same hold true for Access 2000? The adjustment
was to add 2000 to the year and base calculations on that.

I am asking because the book I am learning Access from (Not Microsoft,
one of those "Teach yourself ___" books.) The book says Access will work
for any date from January 1, 1600 to the year 2199. I have only about 18
people born prior to 1600, so what would be the best solution for dates
with them?

I attended a one day Access class, in which we were handed materials the
instructor said he got from Microsoft, but this said Access could only
work with dates from 1932 to 2499. (If this is true, is there a
recommended work-around? I have 1,000s of dates before 1932.)

So I have three different sources, and three different date limitations.
Can someone correct this for me please so I can work with dates from
1543 to the present in Access?

Thank you.

Robert
