[mso] Re: Changing Default Font in Word 2003

No, but are you clicking the DEFAULT button when you change it? On the Font
dialog box there is a button for default. Once you change the font, you need
to click that. Then...it must be saved. Is the Normal.dot asking you to save
the changes? Normally, it shouldn't...it should change this by default after
you verify that you want this as a permanent change. If it is asking you to
save and you don't or can't properly save it to normal.dot...then your
normal may be on a network or is protected from this type of change.

Finally, if you're on your own system that would not be protected and you're
setting the default, not asking to save normal and it is still not
working...after doing all the right things...chances are that your
normal.dot may be corrupt. Locate it and rename it to normal.old and reopen
Word to get a fresh copy and give that a shot. If that works, that was the
problem. You can then find the OLD file and copy over any styles, toolbars,
macros or autotext that you may still need from that normal.dot. See this
article for those details:

Subject: [mso] Changing Default Font in Word 2003

Easy question. Trying to change the default font in Word 2003. I
change it and it works on new documents until I close Word, then it
reverts back to the old default font. Do I have to open normal.dot to
change the default font permanently?
Thanks
