Hi Joe. That's the best I could come up with. It seems the freebies
only convert from word to pdf and not the other way around. If you want
to do that, you will have to buy Adobe Acrobat or search the internet
for some of the low cost alternatives. This is why pdf format is so
popular....the authors are trying to protect their stuff from being
copied....so they use pdfs, which does make it more difficult.

Here's a link that offers converters to extract text and graphics out of
pdf files...maybe this will help you:

Hi Linda,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I'm not able to find what I'm
looking
for in those links. I want only to convert from pdf to Word/Excel. They
all
seem to want to go the other way, i.e. from word to pdf. The link to
pdfcreation.com seems to offer a solution but when I look further it
appears
you need to actually have the Adobe Acrobat and not just the reader. I
just
want to take an occasional pdf document an convert it to Word/Excel.
Scaning
is an option but as I said, if it is a lengthy document it is tedious
and
time consuming. The occasional 'lenghty documnets' would be the ones I
would
want to convert to Excel. The other occasional documents are one page,
often
with a Logo, that I want to convert to Word.

Thanks,

Joe
