More info on this problem. Since Linda's reply and my last posting,
I've tested more and it seems the problem only happens when Word is
launched by opening the doc in Windows Explorer. If I open Word first,
then do File | Open, THEN do Edit | Find, it works properly.

Does this give anyone more to work with in an effort to figure this one
out?

Thanks for your help.

and the Find and Replace dialog box displays but the Word doc minimizes.
At this point he Word icon in the task bar is no longer flashing...click
on the icon again and now you have both the Word doc and the Find and
Replace dialog box displayed.

Another example:
Same situation as above, but the Print dialog box

Any idea what this is about?
