Hi folks... As you may remember, I'm much better writing data to Access from the backdoor...then through the front. But in this instance, I need to setup = the DB through the GUI, properly, so I can explain the process to someone = after I write the backend code. But I'm used to making data show up anyway I want...without Access. So making Access bend to my will isn't my best = skill. So I'd appreciate any help with this scenario. Note...I have the sample = DB available if any brave soul wants to check it out if my explanation = stinks! ;-) It's a pretty basic DB. Four tables...Clients, Invoices, InvoiceDetails = and InventoryItems...relations linked appropriately showing InventoryItems = in the InvoiceDetails when sold...the details related to the same invoice. = The invoices related to the clients. However, when I select an item to add to the Invoice details...I pick = the name of the item and would also like the current cost to show. I have it currently TOGETHER with the item name. But that's not quite want I want...and I don't know how to get what I want. Say I choose (and these prices samples here) a license for Office. In = the inventory table, it shows the ItemID, ItemName, SKU and Price. So when I select Office...I'd like to see the price, at least for that item. = However, I don't get the plus sign to allow me to see those details...and I don't know why...what do I have to do to properly link that up??? The others = all show links to display the info...not that one? Anyway, I thought, well, I'll just have the price display in that field, too. So I click on Office and next to it...in another column...is the = price. But that doesn't display in the row, I must click the drop down to see = it. And this doesn't really seem the right way to do this?=20 So I can open the Client table and expand to see the sub table to see = all their invoices. Cool. And I can click on the invoice to see all the = details of the items in that invoice. Right. But I can't click on the purchased = item to expand to see the cost/sku details...which I'd like. OR...have those fields display in some way in the details table. But I=92m lost! Any clues what I screwed up? Hope SOMEONE can understand = this. TIA... =09 Dian D.
