Is it possible that you isp is using variable length subnetting and did =
not add a static route for each Variable Length subnet, thus hoping it =
would use the Default Gateway when a static entry is not found? If the =
ISP is using variable length subnets, ALL of the subnets have to be =
accounted for.

A bit more info...

We are definitely unable to telnet on port 25 on each others exchange =
=3D
servers. I've tried going to other servers on the net and had no =3D
problem. He has as well. he mentioned to me today that our ISP had some =
=3D
routing issues a couple of weeks ago.... could this possibly be an issue =
=3D
on our ISP's network? they say NO.... and they know everything of =3D
course.

Can anyone out there telnet to my box? or is it isolated to him?

thanks

Hi all,
=3D20
We have a strange problem that cropped up early last week, and I could =
=3D
use your help. We cannot recieve email from a company that used to send =
=3D
to us quite regularly. We are receiving email from everywhere else in =
=3D
the world. I've been working with their admin guy and they have no =3D
problems sending emails anywhere else but here. When he tries to send =
=3D
me an email, this is the response he gets:

We've both run out of ideas on this one. We cannot tell if its my =3D
system or his (I'm thinking its mine). Coincidently, we both are using =
=3D
the same ISP (Storm.ca), so we initially suspected some kind of routing =
=3D
issue but the folks at Storm say everything is OK. We are both running =
=3D
Exchange 2000. I'm not doing any blocking on the server at all.
=3D20
Does anyone have any ideas where else we can look?
=3D20
Thanks,
=3D20
