Subject: [msb-alumni] Tony update from facebook.
Tony update: it was a toss-up between ER and holding off until we could
speak with all his doctors. His nephrologist appointment on Friday agreed
that ER might not be the best way to go at that time. The cardiologist nurse
passed the buck and told Tony to contact his PCP. The PCP said that this was
a cardiac situation and that he needs to get through to the cardiologist.
Finally, Monday Tony's dialysis nurse, Tammy, got through to his
cardiologist and they called him back. After asking questions of symptoms,
since one symptom was a dripping nose, which I believe is his usual sinus
thing, and a random cough or two, which we all have from time to time, the
cardiologist nurse said that he has to get a covid-19 test. Today we are
going for a drive-thru covid-19 nasal swab. Once the results come back
negative, as I am 99.9% sure it will be, then he will set up an echo. If he
still has symptoms if pericarditis, however, we feel that symptoms or no
symptoms, he needs an echo to see how thi
ngs look in there since his cardiac window surgery back in February. So
this is where we are right now and Tony's doing better, but still not 100%.
He had quite a setback there and it will take a while for him to get back to
is improving status. We'll keep you posted and thank you for all your
