Oh no! I am so sad hearing this. No I don't think there are many left who I
knew during my time there. Mr. Dickeson may be about the only one. I really
liked Miss Fouty, and I just remembered how we'd go in her room and buy those
mini peanut butter cups. I wonder if there are many houseparents who are still
alive too.

I'm rather to late with this one, but life has been unusually busy lately
so having said that, it is my unfortunate duty to report the passing of another
MSB staff member! Really, how many are left? Likely just a few.
Mark Martin, 73.
Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Fouty, 76 of Lansing, Michigan, formerly of La Porte, Indiana,
passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022.
Mary was born November 18, 1946, in Michigan to the late William C. and
Magdalen L. (Rupenthal) Fouty.
Mary is survived by a sister, Joanne Herman of Fairfield, Ohio; and two nieces,
Christine Holland and Catherine Herman.
Mary was a former member of St. Joseph Parish. She graduated in 1964, from St.
Joseph High School in South Bend, Nazareth College, and Michigan State with
a master’s degree. She taught at the Michigan School for the blind which became
the Michigan School for the blind and deaf. She also taught at Lancing
Community College.
Visitation will be from 9:00 – 9:45 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2022, at Frank
L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December
30, 2022, at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Church, 109 C Street, La Porte,
Indiana. Reverend Ian Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at St.
Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to La Porte County Animal Shelter, 2855
IN-2, La Porte, Indiana 46350.
