BlankJames Frederick Borough James Frederick Borough Lansing - Passed away
Friday, November 9, 2018. Jim was born on August 21, 1944 in Madison, Wisconsin
to
the late James and Phyllis (Bowerman) Borough. As a child they moved to the
Lansing area. He graduated from the Michigan School for the Blind as
Valedictorian,
attended CMU for his Bachelor's Degree, and furthered his education at MSU
where
he earned his Master's Degree. He was a beloved teacher for over 25 years
at the Michigan School for the Blind until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed
bowling, crosswords, watching the Detroit Tigers and Golf, playing cards,
and reading. Jim loved his family and friends and lived a full life. He is
survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Ruth (Shattuck) Borough; three
children,
David (Miriam) Borough, Amy Doty, and Steven Borough; grandchildren, Madeleine,
Jonah, Kameron, and Brendan; a sister, Sue (Dale Fritzsche) Borough, and
many foster children, relatives and friends. The Funeral Service will be held
on
Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family
Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1-3 PM & 5-7 PM at the funeral
home. Memorials may be made to Sparrow Hospice Services in memory of Jim.
