It’s also my understanding, that if the port is improperly inserted, it could
injure the nerves in his arm leading to his thumb. So, then, Tony may not be
able to play the drums again. As you can tell, he’s really panicking about
this whole situation. He wants to get another urine test and more blood work
prior to the June 9th operation, to see if his kidneys have improved to the
point of not having to go through with it. Either that, or finding a donor
with a kidney his body can accept. The donor and Tony will have to go to U of
M Hospital to complete the transplant. The port surgery, if needed, will take
place at McLaren hospital on Greenlawn, in Lansing. Please pray that a
suitable donor can be found really soon.

Subject: [msb-alumni] More on Tony's kidneys
I would just like to fill all you good folks in on what is going on with my
kidneys. I did my 24 hour drop a couple of weeks ago. As most of you know, I've
been registered for the transplant list in Ann Arbor. When I talked with them,
one of their questions was if I had a donor. I told them I don't at this time.
They told me it would make things easier if I could. So here goes. We are
sending out pleas for help. My blood type is A. b. positive. As of Thursday,
they did dopplers on my arms to see where they can install ports for dialysis.
Monday I spoke with the doctor. My surgery is scheduled for June 9th at 11 A.M.
They will put the port in my upper left arm. The surgery is suppose to take 3
and a half hours. I can't do anything with it for 8 weeks after it. My hope is
to find a kidney so I don't have to do this. Please, if anyone out there has a
kidney or knows of any body who may bee able to help, please call me at any
time of the day or night. Time is getting shorter. My numbers
are, home 5173944653 and my cell is, 5178818942. Please feel free to forward
this to any other lists you maybe on. As I said before, time is getting
shorter. Thank all of you in advance for all your help. I can't express my
gratitude, for all the love and support you good people have shown so far. I
love all of you for doing so for me. Take care and God bless all of you.Tony
