BlankSo sorry to hear this about Penny.  Quite frankly, I heard she was ill 
much earlier, and thought she had already passed away.  So, I’m glad to know 
the truth, and am sad she died from cancer.  She and I talked when she worked 
at MSU, and she said she just called me to get cheered up. So I know she was 
troubled.  She will be missed, and I know she is in a better place.  Thanks for 
sharing Fred and Steve.

For some reason, maybe because Fred sent this from his AT&T account, it hit the 
bounce list.  


I won't comment on Penny's career, but I do remember her the first year I was 
on the debate team.  

I remember her as very intelligent, but also as a troubled person.  I think 
both her parents were professors at MSU.

I also wonder if she was in chorus or Bell Ringers; I seem to remember her 
being on Band Tour either in my 7th or 8th grade.

Hello,

 

I regret to let everyone know that my classmate Penny Atkin died on
Saturday.  Jerome Jackson called me to tell me.  She graduated from East
Lansing, but was in the class of "69 until around our Sophomore year.  She
had a successful career working for Michigan Bell/Ameritech/AT&T.  She was
in Human Resources.  She graduated from MSU.

 

She has been living in a nursing home for the past several years.  She,
apparently, died of cancer.  I will share additional information or
corrections as I get them.
