Hi Guys,
I have been asked by England Touch to try and help find more players for the
England West Regional U18s and U15s Teams to play in the National Touch
Championships, which will be taking place on Sat 7 October (venue tbc but
likely to be Oxford or Midlands area). I understand this is in the rugby
season, which is not ideal and England Touch will be looking to move it back
into summer next year but could not this year due to a number of calendar and
staffing reasons. However, I'm also aware lots of this junior age group play on
Sundays rather than Saturdays so may be able to do both, as it is just one
fixture so hopefully won't have a negative impact on their contact training.
There is training planned this Sunday 23 July in Oxford (see details below) but
there will also be further sessions in August and September to train the squads
up for Nationals.
Would it be possible to let your age group players/parents know about this
opportunity? Our club has had several players compete in both codes (Perry
Jansen, Will Lawrence, Josh Henderson and more recent Cai Andrew) and I'm sure
you'll agree their skills set has benefitted from this.
