Hello,
Quick update from me.
Training
I will again repeat the reason why we wont be training evening Wednesday. Up
until Xmas a lot of the boys will be playing on a Wednesday afternoons, so due
to my responsibility with player management I do not want the boys getting
burnt out. So if we have training on a Sunday, I may make the decision to not
train on a Wednesday, but will hopefully inform you of this with plenty of
notice, no other reason than trying to look after the boys.
ATTITUDE
Unfortunately both Alan and myself have struggled this season with some of the
boys attitude towards training and their rugby in general. I like to think we
try and keep the training sessions enjoyable and inclusive however we are
finding that some individuals are being disruptive which is having an affect on
the rest of the group. On the survey that I sent out over the summer the
feedback was that training was good and some boys noted that they enjoyed the
discipline within the training sessions. I know this is a difficult age for the
boys, but i would really appreciate you having a word with your son about
focusing more at training.
I occasionally still train with the first XV and they don’t do much different
to what we do, In fact they do a lot more S & C work which I believe a lot of
the boys would really struggle to do with their current attitude.
I have sought some advice and I will sit the boys down and we will set out some
players values for the age group that they need to agree on. This will then
help as it will be their rules which they have all decided on.
Next Sunday
Due to an oversight by the fixture secretary at the moment the B’s are playing
London Irish B’s at home while we are franticly trying to get a fixture for the
A team.
Any questions as always please let me know.
Thanks
Mike
